Day 1,060: Trump whines about brutal Fox News impeachment polls
Donald Trump has been touting — to the tune of hundreds of tweets and comments over the past few weeks — that impeachment has been bane for Democrats and a boon for him.
Except, that hasn’t been backed up by much empirical evidence.
And now, Fox News polls released Sunday threw water all over Trump’s claims.
Americans think Trump abused his power by a 17-point margin, obstructed Congress by a 14-point margin and committed bribery by an 8-point margin. As a result, only 41% of people think Trump shouldn’t be impeached, while 54% think he should.
Trump didn’t take the data well. On Friday, Trump said he poll numbers were “through the roof.” He had a different take about polls Sunday.
There’s a pretty clear pattern: When poll numbers are favorable, Trump shouts about them from rooftops. When poll numbers are unfavorable, Trump claims they are “inaccurate” or biased against him.
